Game Recap: Mount Marty Triumphs in a Thrilling Showdown Against Midland

In a nail-biting encounter at Heedum Field, Mount Marty faced off against Midland in a high-stakes battle that had spectators on the edge of their seats. The game unfolded with Midland seizing an early advantage, establishing a 14-0 lead in the first quarter courtesy of precise passes from quarterback Teryn Berry. However, Mount Marty showcased their resilience and determination in the second quarter.

Ken Gay, Mount Marty's quarterback, orchestrated a remarkable offensive drive, culminating in a precise 32-yard pass to Jonah Miyazawa, putting Mount Marty on the board just before halftime. The momentum had shifted, and Mount Marty was ready to make their mark.

The third quarter remained a defensive struggle, with neither team managing to find the end zone. The stage was set for a thrilling final quarter. Mount Marty, down 21-7, showcased their offensive prowess and resilience. A masterful drive led by Ken Gay saw Mount Marty scoring three touchdowns in the final quarter.

Rex Ryken and Trey Hansen played pivotal roles, making crucial receptions that kept the chains moving. With just 23 seconds left in the game, Mount Marty found themselves tied 21-21 with Midland. It was then that Gay connected with Rex Ryken on a spectacular 61-yard pass, securing the lead and ultimately the victory for Mount Marty.
