Mount Marty Falls To Dakota Wesleyan (SD) in 90-66 Loss

Mount Marty University faced a challenging defeat against Dakota Wesleyan (SD) with a final score of 90-66 on December 9, 2023. 

From the onset, Dakota Wesleyan (SD) took control, establishing a dominant lead in the first half with a score of 42-22. Mount Marty faced an uphill battle as they aimed to cut into the deficit in the second half. However, despite a stronger offensive showing, Dakota Wesleyan maintained their momentum. 

Rugby Ryken led the scoring effort for Mount Marty, contributing 10 points, followed closely by Cole Bowen, who added 10 points as well. Mount Marty showcased a decent shooting performance, hitting 45.8% from the field and displaying accuracy from the three-point line, shooting 46.2%.

Despite their efforts, Mount Marty faced challenges in containing Dakota Wesleyan's offense, especially against impressive performances from Jakob Dobney, who led the scoring with 23 points, and Blaze Lubbers, contributing 20 points. Dakota Wesleyan showcased efficient shooting, hitting 55.4% from the field and maintaining an 80.0% free-throw shooting rate.

Mount Marty's resilient effort was evident in their play, yet they struggled to contain Dakota Wesleyan's offensive prowess and fell short in closing the scoring gap.
