Mount Marty's Baseball team had its first home series of the year on Friday and Saturday. The Lancers hosted Midland in a four game set. Mount Marty swept the series and improved to 29-8 overall and 12-4 in the GPAC. Midland is now 16-17 overall and 8-8 in the GPAC.Â
Game OneÂ
Mount Marty took the lead late in the game in a 7-2 victory over Midland University on Friday. Â The game was tied at two with MMUÂ batting in the bottom of the fifth when
Billy Hancock doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Midland University got things moving in the second inning, when #34 doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Zane Pollon earned the victory on the mound, he surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
#24 toed the rubber for Midland University. The hurler allowed seven hits and five runs over four and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero. Â #22 threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Myles Brown started the game , the righthander allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one
Mount Marty socked one home run on the day.
Caid Koletzky went yard in the sixth inning.
The Lancers racked up ten hits in the game. Â
Zane Salley,
Will Gardner, and
Bodi Wallar all had multiple hits for MMU. Â Wallar, Gardner, and Salley each managed two hits to lead the Lancers.
Game Two
Four hits from
Bodi Wallar helped lead Mount Marty past Midland University 6-4 on Friday.  Wallar singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.
The Lancers earned the victory despite allowing Midland University to score three runs in the third inning. Â Midland University big bats were led by #37, #34, and #32, who each had RBIs in the inning.
MMU fired up the offense in the first inning. Â Wallar singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
In the top of the third inning, Midland University tied things up at three. Â #32's sac fly scored one run for Midland University.
The Lancers pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Â In the fourth Wallar singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Zach Hegge led the Mount Marty to victory on the hill. Hegge allowed two hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out ten and walking zero. Â
Noah McCandless threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
#35 took the loss for Midland University. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out five.
Clayton Chipchase started the game, the righthander allowed six hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out one
Mount Martyracked up eight hits. Â Wallar and
Evan Bock all managed multiple hits for MMU. Â Wallar led MMUÂ with four hits in four at bats.
Game Three
Mount Marty wins contest against Midland University, Â 7-2
The Lancers got things moving in the first inning. Â
Will Gardner hit a solo homer.
Mount Marty pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. Â In the third
Bodi Wallar singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and #21 induced
Kiko Nunez to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Jared Miller got the win for the Lancers, Miller went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one. Â
Jett Hasegawa threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
#21 took the loss for Midland University. undefined surrendered three runs on eight hits over three innings, striking out two and walking one.
MMU tallied one home run on the day. Gardner had a four bagger in the first inning.
The Lancers racked up 14 hits on the day. Â

Caid Koletzky each racked up multiple hits for the Lancers. Â Hancock and Salley each collected three hits to lead the Lancers.
Game Four
Mount Marty wins contest against Midland University, 4-1.
The Lancers opened up scoring in the second inning, when
Braeden Cordes's sac fly scored one run for MMU.
Chris Rofe got the win for the Lancers, he lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 13 and walking zero. Â
Heston Williams and
Noah McCandless entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Â McCandless recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Mount Marty.
#17 took the loss for Midland University. The bulldog went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five.
Will Gardner went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lancers in hits.

Mount Marty will travel to Orange City, IA on Friday April 14th with a double header vs Northwestern College starting at 5:00 PM. The Lancers will then travel to Crete, NE to faceoff with Doane on April 16th starting at noon.Â
