Concordia defeated Mount Marty 8-1 on Saturday the Lancers fall to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play.Â
Concordia (Neb.) set the tone early in the match, with Kierstynn Garner finding the back of the net in the 4th minute, assisted by Sierra Springer.
Niah Kirchner scored in the 6th minute, followed by Savannah Andrews' solo effort in the 12th minute, bringing the score to 3-0 in favor of Concordia (Neb.). Savannah Andrews netted two more goals in quick succession, in the 14th and 16th minutes, taking the score to an impressive 5-0 for the home team.
Mount Marty managed to respond in the second half as Katelyn Powers scored in the 51st minute, assisted by Yanisa Hall, giving the visitors hope.
However, Concordia (Neb.) quickly regained control, with Sierra Springer scoring in the 57th minute, followed by Savannah Andrews' third goal in the 66th minute. Kierstynn Garner added her second goal in the 72nd minute, sealing the dominant 8-1 victory for Concordia (Neb.).
The shot count favored Concordia (Neb.) with 22 shots compared to Mount Marty's 3 shots. Concordia's offensive display showcased their strength and efficiency in front of goal.
