Volleyball: Lancers Fall To #16 Jamestown

Mount Marty Volleyball Falls to #16 Jamestown in Straight Sets

In a challenging match-up against the formidable Jamestown team, Mount Marty faced a tough battle on the volleyball court, ultimately falling in straight sets. Jamestown's powerful offensive display and solid defense proved to be a formidable challenge for Mount Marty, resulting in a final score of 25-14, 25-15, 25-16. The Lancers are now 9-10 overall and 2-4 in the GPAC. 

The Lancers faced significant struggles in their attacking game throughout the match. The offensive efforts were led by Julia Weber, the outside hitter, who displayed her skills with 6 kills. Despite her efforts, Mount Marty faced a strong Jamestown defense, limiting their attacking opportunities.

Ally Whitmire, the setter, worked to set up plays and keep the offensive rhythm going. She showcased her playmaking abilities with 17 assists, trying to find gaps in the Jamestown defense.

Defensively, Zoie Bertsch, exhibited her prowess with an impressive 14 digs, showing her agility and determination in receiving and digging the opponent's attacks. Additionally, Mia Furst, Gabby Miller, and Jaycee Fisher made significant contributions to both the offense and defense, displaying their skills in the face of a challenging opponent.

Mount Marty fought hard throughout the match, but Jamestown's relentless offense and solid defense ultimately proved too much to handle. Despite the loss, Mount Marty showed resilience and determination.
