Leah Day opened the scoring for Black Hills State at 11:48 with an unassisted goal, putting the visitors ahead 1-0. Just a couple of minutes later, Jayda Hammer extended their lead, with an assist from Hailey Warren, making it 2-0 at 13:18. Samantha Turpen added to the tally at 19:47 with another goal, assisted by Hailey Warren, giving Black Hills State a comfortable 3-0 advantage. Kayla Osequeda and Lexi Crow continued the scoring spree, finding the net at 29:37 and 32:46, respectively, to put Black Hills State up 5-0.
