Women's Soccer: Mount Marty Falls To Black Hills State

Mount Marty hosted its first game of the year early Sunday morning. Black Hills State defeated Mount Marty 5-0. Mount Marty is now 0-1 on the season, and Black Hills State improves to 2-0.

First Half: The first half of the game showcased Black Hills State's offensive prowess. Leah Day opened the scoring for Black Hills State at 11:48 with an unassisted goal, putting the visitors ahead 1-0. Just a couple of minutes later, Jayda Hammer extended their lead, with an assist from Hailey Warren, making it 2-0 at 13:18. Samantha Turpen added to the tally at 19:47 with another goal, assisted by Hailey Warren, giving Black Hills State a comfortable 3-0 advantage. Kayla Osequeda and Lexi Crow continued the scoring spree, finding the net at 29:37 and 32:46, respectively, to put Black Hills State up 5-0.

Second Half: The second half saw a spirited effort from Mount Marty, but they were unable to break through Black Hills State's defense. Despite their efforts, the score remained unchanged.
