Second Half
The intensity only increased after halftime as both teams raised their shooting accuracy. Mayville State made a late push, scoring 48 second-half points, but Mount Marty matched the Comets shot-for-shot. Lunday continued to dominate, finishing with a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Brandon Garcia contributed an impressive 18 points and 5 assists.
The Lancers shot a strong 48.3% from the field and 83.3% from the line, staying efficient in crunch time. Mount Marty also outscored Mayville State in the paint, 44-36, using their inside presence to build and sustain their lead.
Key Performances
The Lancers controlled the glass with 27 total rebounds, including 8 offensive boards that created additional scoring chances. Lunday's 10 rebounds—many of them key defensive stops—helped stymie Mayville State's second-half efforts. Cainan Wright also added depth, scoring 10 points off the bench and providing a strong presence on the boards.
Mayville State's London Williams led his team with 17 points and 6 rebounds, but Mount Marty's depth and execution ultimately proved too much for the Comets.
With this win, the Lancers improve to 3-0 on the season, showing promising form as they continue their campaign. They'll look to carry this momentum into their next matchup on the road against Graceland University on Friday, November 8th.Â
