Softball: Lancers Fall On The Road To Jamestown

Lancers were back on the road for their first GPAC road DH. The Lancers lost both to Jamestown. The Lancers are now 9-13 overall and 2-2 in the GPAC. 

Jamestown Prevails Over Mount Marty 6-2

In a matchup against Mount Marty, Jamestown emerged victorious with a final score of 6-2, showcasing a strong offensive performance.

The game's momentum swung in Jamestown's favor early on, as they took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Mackenzie Lefebvre's sacrifice fly brought Trinity Gregg home.

Jamestown extended their lead in the third inning with a barrage of hits. Kayla Quintanilla's two-run triple and Gracie Fisher's RBI double pushed Jamestown ahead 4-0.

Mount Marty managed to claw back into the game in the fifth inning, benefiting from an error by the shortstop. Raegan Harper reached base on the error, allowing Ella McNew and Sami Noble to score, cutting the deficit to 4-2.

However, Jamestown responded in the bottom of the sixth inning with another burst of offense. Kayla Quintanilla's two-run double drove in Samarah Martinez and Abby Blair, extending Jamestown's lead to 6-2.

Mount Marty's pitchers struggled to contain Jamestown's hitters, with McKenzie Gray giving up six runs on 11 hits over six innings.

Sunny Halsey started for Jamestown, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing two runs on two hits. Hope Ransome came in for relief, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings to secure the win and earn the save.

Jamestown Dominates Mount Marty with 13-2 Win

In a commanding performance, Jamestown (N.D.) outmatched Mount Marty with a final score of 13-2, demonstrating both offensive prowess and defensive solidity.

The game began with Jamestown setting the tone in the first inning, scoring three runs. Kayla Quintanilla's hit drove in two runs, capitalizing on an error in left field, while Hope Ransome's double added another run to Jamestown's tally.

Mount Marty managed to respond in the second inning, with Janeah Castro's single bringing Abby Johnson home, narrowing the gap to 3-1.

However, Jamestown widened the lead in the second inning with a series of hits. Samarah Martinez's double, coupled with Kayla Quintanilla's single, contributed to a five-run surge, extending Jamestown's lead to 8-1.

Mount Marty attempted to rally in the third inning, capitalizing on an error by second base. Autumn Porter reached base, allowing Kayleen Jacinto to score, but Jamestown quickly regained control.

In the bottom of the third, Jamestown showcased their offensive dominance once again. Samarah Martinez's double drove in two runs, and Kayla Quintanilla capitalized on another error to bring in a run. Camryn Schwab's single added two more runs to Jamestown's total, securing a commanding 13-2 lead.

Abby Blair pitched a strong game for Jamestown, allowing only two runs on four hits over five innings, securing the win.
