Grim's Second-Half Brilliance Leads Lancers to 2–2 Draw Against Morningside

YANKTON, S.D. — The Mount Marty women's soccer team rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit to earn a thrilling 2–2 draw against Morningside University on Saturday evening at Crane Youngworth Field.

After falling behind 2–0 in the opening 20 minutes, the Lancers came alive in the second half behind the scoring touch of Rhyli Grim, who netted both Mount Marty goals. Grim struck first in the 51st minute, cutting the deficit in half, before leveling the match in the 71st minute with another unassisted finish — her seventh and eighth goals of the season.

The Lancers' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Brooklyn McNac, tightened up after halftime. McNac recorded three saves in 90 minutes of play to preserve the draw.

Mount Marty outshot Morningside 6–5 in the second half and generated four corner kicks in the comeback effort.

With the tie, Mount Marty moves to 6-4-2 overall and 3-1-2 in GPAC play, continuing a strong conference stretch. The Lancers will return to action Wednesday, October 15, when they host Doane University starting at 7:30 PM.
