Lancers Fall in Straight Sets at Dakota Wesleyan
MITCHELL, S.D. — Mount Marty volleyball was unable to overcome a strong Dakota Wesleyan attack on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets (13-25, 18-25, 20-25) inside the Christen Family Athletic Center.
The Lancers (9-11, 2-7 GPAC) found rhythm in the second and third sets but couldn't slow down the Tigers' offense, which hit .327 for the match. Mount Marty posted 37 kills and 36 assists while collecting 53 digs as a team.
Julia Weber led the Lancers' offense with nine kills while hitting .333 and adding 17 assists, nine digs, and a block assist. Gabby Miller followed with eight kills and three digs, and Caitlin Guenther contributed eight kills, three digs, and three total blocks. Grace Nesdahl was efficient with four kills on a .214 hitting percentage.
Defensively, Kate Tollinger led all players with 15 digs, while Adisyn Indahl added 11. Setter Brianna Even also tallied 17 assists and three digs.
The Lancers will look to rebound when they return home to face Morningside University on Friday, October 10, with the junior varsity match starting at 6:00 p.m. and varsity at 7:30 p.m. inside Cimpl Arena.
