Mount Marty Men's Basketball Falls to Morningside on the Road

The Mount Marty University (MMU) men's basketball team suffered a tough loss on the road against the Morningside University Mustangs, falling 86-63 on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The defeat drops the Lancers' record to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in GPAC play, bringing an end to their conference win streak.

Morningside dominated the first half with highly efficient shooting, building a massive lead that the Lancers could not overcome despite a better second-half performance.

  • First Half Deficit: Morningside exploded for 50 points in the opening half, holding Mount Marty to just 23, creating a decisive 27-point halftime lead.

  • Morningside Efficiency: The Mustangs were exceptional, shooting 60.8% (31-51) from the field and 46.9% (15-32) from three-point range. Alex Wilcoxson was the top scorer for Morningside with 26 points, hitting 6 three-pointers.
