Lancers Rout Warriors in GPAC Road Victory

The Mount Marty University (MMU) women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance on the road, crushing Waldorf University (WU) 89-34 in a conference matchup on December 13, 2025.

The Lancers (8-4, 4-4 GPAC) secured their eighth win of the season with a commanding effort on both ends of the floor, holding the Warriors (1-12, 0-7 GPAC) to 34 points.


Game Summary

Mount Marty asserted control immediately, jumping out to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter and extending their advantage to 38-15 by halftime. The Lancers did not let up, consistently widening the margin throughout the second half, capped by a huge 33-point outburst in the final quarter to win by 55 points.

The Lancers' success was built on rebounding and field goal percentage. MMU outrebounded Waldorf 58-22, including a massive 24 offensive boards, which led to numerous second-chance points. The Lancers shot 40.0% (32-80) from the field, while their aggressive defense held Waldorf to a dismal 24.1% (13-54). Mount Marty also excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 81.0% (17-21) of their shots.

Mount Marty's win was a true team effort, with 11 different players scoring and four reaching double digits.

  • Kaela Martinez led the Lancers' attack with a game-high 17 points, hitting four three-pointers, and added 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

  • Kaylee Whatley was incredibly efficient off the bench, scoring 17 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing 4 rebounds.

  • Lacey Sprakel and Leah Williams chipped in 12 points and 11 points, respectively. Sprakel led the team with 5 offensive rebounds.

  • Alexis Folkers was a force on the glass, leading all players with a huge 13 rebounds (5 offensive) and tallying 3 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals.

  • Alexus Motley nearly had a double-double with 9 rebounds and 4 points.

Waldorf's Efforts

The Warriors struggled to find consistent offense against the Lancers' defense.

  • Cloey Dmytruk led Waldorf in scoring with 8 points and 2 rebounds.

  • Charlotte Mills also scored 8 points, with two three-pointers, and grabbed 6 rebounds.

  • Mia Sao-Martinez contributed 6 points with two three-pointers.
