The Mount Marty University (MMU) men's basketball team showcased an offensive explosion on the road, defeating Waldorf University (WU) 100-71 in a dominant conference performance on December 13, 2025.
The Lancers (7-6, 5-2 GPAC) continued their strong run, using scorching-hot shooting to easily dispatch the Warriors (3-11, 0-7 GPAC) and secure the win.
Game Summary
Mount Marty controlled the game from the outset, establishing a 43-41 lead at the half. However, the second half saw the Lancers pull away decisively, erupting for a massive 57 points while holding the Warriors to just 30, cruising to the final 100-71 margin.
The key to the Lancers' victory was their exceptional shooting efficiency. Mount Marty shot an outstanding 61.9% (39-63) from the field, easily overwhelming the Waldorf defense. They were also sharp from long distance, hitting 40.0% (8-20) of their three-pointers, and nearly perfect at the line, sinking 93.3% (14-15) of their free throws. The Lancers also demonstrated excellent ball movement, registering 19 assists as a team.

Damon Opdahl led all scorers with 26 points, shooting a phenomenal 9-of-12 from the field and an even better 7-of-9 from three-point range. He also added 6 assists.
