Women's Basketball: Lancers Fall To #5 Chargers

Briar Cliff Overpowers Mount Marty in Road Victory

YANKTON, S.D. – Briar Cliff University ecured a 93-70 win over Mount Marty University on Saturday. The Chargers used a balanced offensive attack and stifling defense to take control early and never looked back.

Briar Cliff (23-3, 17-3 GPAC) built an early lead, outscoring Mount Marty 49-29 in the first half behind sharp three-point shooting and high-pressure defense. The Lancers (10-16, 4-16 GPAC) battled back in the third quarter, putting up 27 points, but Briar Cliff responded in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

  • Sidney Thue led the Lancers with 22 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 9-of-16 from the field.
  • Emma Jarovski added 14 points, including 3-of-4 from deep, while also grabbing 3 rebounds.
