Mount Marty Women's Soccer Dominates Dakota State in 6–0 Victory
Madison, S.D. — August 25, 2025 — The Mount Marty University women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on the road Monday, defeating Dakota State 6–0 for its first win of the season. The Lancers controlled every phase of the match, outshooting the Trojans 18–10 while converting six goals from five different players.
Rhyli Grim powered the attack with a hat trick, scoring in the 39th, 58th, and 69th minutes to record her first career three-goal match. Grim finished with a match-high seven shots, five on target.
The scoring opened in the 21st minute when Alyssa Rios buried her first goal of the season to put Mount Marty in front. Mika Moriera extended the lead in the 30th minute. Moriera later added an assist on Grim's first goal, giving her a two-point match. Alexia Valdez joined the scoring in the 66th minute with a sharp strike inside the box.
On the defensive side, the Lancers were equally dominant. Goalkeeper Brooklyn McNac posted a clean sheet with five saves across 90 minutes, shutting down Dakota State's second-half push. The back line, anchored by Joslynn Simmons, Val Ruiz, and Kiersten Ostnes, limited the Trojans to just five shots on frame and forced a -.160 shooting percentage.
Statistically, Mount Marty put nine shots on goal and converted two of its four corner kick opportunities, while keeping fouls to just three across the contest.
The Lancers improve to 1–1–0 on the season and will return to action against York in Yankton at 3 PM.
