Lancers Split Triangular at York
YORK, Neb. — The Mount Marty volleyball team battled through two matches on Saturday, falling in a five-set heartbreaker to York (NE) before bouncing back in dominant fashion with a sweep of Haskell Indian Nations University.
Match One: York 3, Mount Marty 2
The Lancers opened the day with a marathon battle against York, taking the first two sets before the Panthers rallied to win 19-25, 27-29, 25-19, 25-22, 15-11.

Jaya Wachholtz led the attack with 16 kills (.323) and added 3 blocks.

Caitlin Guenther followed with 14 kills and 19 points overall.

Adisyn Indahl (11 kills, 12 digs) and Gabby Miller (9 kills) also provided steady offense.

Julia Weber directed the offense with 51 assists and chipped in 11 digs.

Defensively, Kate Tollinger collected 21 digs, while Indahl (12) and Weber (11) anchored the back row.
Despite totaling 59 kills as a team, Mount Marty was edged in the deciding set.
Match Two: Mount Marty 3, Haskell Indian Nations 0
The Lancers regrouped in the afternoon and rolled to a 25-12, 25-19, 25-12 sweep over Haskell Indian Nations.

Wachholtz again paced the offense with 14 kills, while Indahl hit .533 with 9 kills on 15 swings.

Guenther added 9 kills on a .615 clip, and Miller chipped in 6 more.

Weber controlled the match with 36 assists and 6 digs.

Tollinger anchored the defense with 15 digs, while Schweitzer and Weber each served an ace.
As a team, Mount Marty hit .281 while holding Haskell to a .000 efficiency and just 17 kills.
The Lancers (8-7) will return to GPAC play on Tuesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to College of Saint Mary. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., following the JV match at 6:00.
