Mount Marty Dominates Waldorf in Commanding 97-39 Victory

Date: January 24, 2026 Final Score: Mount Marty 97, Waldorf 39

The Mount Marty Lancers (12-9, 7-8 GPAC) put on an absolute clinic at home today, dismantling the Waldorf Warriors in a wire-to-wire blowout. It was a complete team effort that saw the Lancers excel in every facet of the game, particularly during a defensive masterclass in the third quarter where they held the Warriors to just six points.

From the opening tip, Mount Marty established a tempo that Waldorf simply couldn't match. After a solid first half that saw the Lancers lead 45-19, they came out of the locker room with a level of intensity rarely seen.

The third quarter was the knockout blow, with Mount Marty outscoring Waldorf 30-6. The Lancers' ball movement was surgical, recording 30 assists on 36 made field goals—a testament to their unselfish play and offensive chemistry.

Lancer Statistical Leaders

  • Kaela Martinez: The sharpshooter of the night, Martinez poured in 20 points while knocking down 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.

  • Lacey Sprakel: Provided the muscle and efficiency inside, scoring 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting in just 17 minutes of action.

  • Alexis Folkers: While she only scored 4 points, her impact was arguably the greatest on the floor. She stuffed the stat sheet with 9 assists, 7 steals, and 6 rebounds in a display of elite playmaking and defensive anticipation.

  • Alexus Motley: Added 10 points and recorded 3 steals, anchoring the defensive front that kept Waldorf off-balance all afternoon.

Defensive Dominance

The story of the game was the Lancers' defense. They recorded a staggering 20 steals, essentially living in the Waldorf passing lanes. By holding the Warriors to 25% shooting from the field and a dismal 14.3% from three-point range, Mount Marty ensured there was never a moment of doubt.

Mount Marty will be in action next on Jan. 28th tipping off at 5:30 PM. The Lancers will play Hastings College.
