Baseball: Lancers Sweep Hesston; Coach Teichroew Wins 100th Game

The Mount Marty Lancers continued their dominant stretch against Hesston College, completing the series sweep with a pair of victories that showcased both elite individual power and relentless team speed.

Game 1: Mount Marty 4, Hesston College 2

This contest was defined by a historic individual performance from Tyler Vance, who provided almost all the offense needed to secure the win.

  • Kimo Wilinski: Provided a crucial insurance run in the 6th inning with an RBI double that scored Jalen Owens.

  • Cade Sudbeck (W): Earned the win with a solid start, and the bullpen followed suit.

  • Julian Santoyo (S): Was lights-out in the final two frames, striking out three and allowing zero hits to pick up the save.

  • Speed on the Basepaths: The Lancers were aggressive, recording 5 stolen bases, including two from Jalen Owens.

Game 2: Mount Marty 14, Hesston College 4

The series finale was a clinical display of offensive execution, as Mount Marty scored in every inning except the 4th to trigger a convincing double-digit victory.

  • Cooper Mlnarik: Crushed a solo home run in the 3rd inning and finished with 2 RBIs.

  • Drew Ryken: Made a significant impact off the bench, driving in 3 runs via a sacrifice fly and a 2-RBI single.

  • Palmer Jacobs (W): Pitched 4.2 effective innings to earn his first win of the season, backed by a relief corps that surrendered only one hit over the final 2.1 innings.
