Men's Golf: Lancers Place 7th In GPAC Championships; Highest Finish In School History

he Mount Marty University men's golf team made history at the 2026 GPAC Men's Golf Championship, securing a 7th-place finish—the highest ranking in the program's history. Competing at the Dakota Dunes Country Club on April 20–21, the Lancers battled through 54 holes to achieve this milestone.

Individual performances for the Mount Marty golfers included:

  • Wout Kerkhofs led the Lancers, finishing in a tie for 21st place with a total score of +16. He remained steady throughout the tournament, posting rounds of 77 (+5), 78 (+6), and 77 (+5).

  • Hunter Bailey finished in a tie for 25th place at +18 overall. After an opening-round 83 (+11), he found his rhythm to card a 78 (+6) in the second round and finished strong with the team's lowest final-round score of 73 (+1).

  • Leo Garcia secured a tie for 29th place with a total of +21. He opened with an 80 (+8) and followed up with rounds of 82 (+10) and 75 (+3).

  • Guus Van Loon tied for 39th place at +28. His round-by-round scores were 80 (+8), 82 (+10), and 82 (+10).

  • Parker Riley finished tied for 42nd place with a total of +29. He recorded rounds of 82 (+10), 81 (+9), and 82(+10).

The team's historic performance was part of a competitive field where Hastings took the team title and the top ten individuals were named to the GPAC All-Tournament Team.
