Head Baseball Coach – 4th Season
Mount Marty University

Josh Teichroew is entering his fourth season as the head baseball coach and his ninth season overall on the Mount Marty University coaching staff. A former standout pitcher for the Lancers and a graduate of Mount Marty College, Teichroew has been a key figure in the program’s growth both on and off the field.

During his playing career, Teichroew earned Honorable Mention All-GPAC honors as a junior, making a then-school record 18 pitching appearances in a single season. He was an integral part of the 2012 GPAC Tournament Championship team, helping Mount Marty capture the conference title.

Before being named head coach, Teichroew served in various roles including pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. His coaching experience extends beyond Mount Marty, with successful summer stints including assistant coaching roles for the Western Nebraska Pioneers (2018 Expedition League champions), Macon Bacon (2020 Coastal Plain League champions), and the Willmar Stingers (Northwoods League, 2021 and 2023).

Under Teichroew’s leadership, the baseball program has seen significant competitive success and player development, with seven Lancers advancing to professional baseball and 19 players earning All-GPAC honors. One player has also received the prestigious GPAC Gold Glove award for defensive excellence.

Academics and community service are also cornerstones of Teichroew’s program. Since taking the helm, 25 student-athletes have been recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The Lancer baseball team has earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award twice and has maintained NAIA Scholar Team status for 21 consecutive years. Teichroew has led numerous community outreach initiatives, fostering strong ties between the team and the Yankton community.

“Josh’s dedication to developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel on the field, in the classroom, and in the community exemplifies the best of Mount Marty Baseball,” said Athletic Director Andy Bernatow. “His leadership continues to elevate our program to new heights.”
