John Michaletti was promoted to the position of Head Football Coach at Mount Marty in July of 2021. Coach Michaletti was the Defensive Coordinator and the Associate Head Coach before his promotion.
Prior to his arrival in Yankton, Coach Michaletti spent six seasons at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas. He helped guide one of the best defenses in the country and built the program into a national power. In 2019, the Coyotes posted a 12-1 record, winning the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship as well as winning a first-round game in the NAIA National Tournament over Baker University. In 2017 and 2019, Michaletti was selected as the KCAC Assistant Football Coach of the Year.
Michaletti followed Coach Matt Drinkall to Kansas Wesleyan from Saint Ambrose University, where he coached the Defensive Backs for the Fighting Bees for two seasons. He was also the strength and conditioning coach for the Bees football program. During his time as an assistant, Michaletti has been able to help post a 54-18 record while at Kansas Wesleyan University and a 16-6 record while at Saint Ambrose University.
A native of Rock Island, IL, Michaletti was a two-time all-conference Safety while at Saint Ambrose. Michaletti was selected as the first recipient of the Bob Jurevitz Award at Saint Ambrose University in 2012. He graduated from Saint Ambrose University in 2012 with a degree in Physical Education and graduated with his Master's of Business Administration from Kansas Wesleyan in 2018. He and his wife, Devin, have three kids now Jack, Scottie, and Ridge.
