Dalton Bornholdt enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach on the Lancer’s staff in 2020-2021. The Colorado native arrives at Mount Marty after serving as the assistant coach at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, CO for the past two seasons. 
While at JWU-Denver, Bornholdt was tasked with player development, recruiting, film/scouting, academic advisory, team travel coordination, and on-floor coaching among other duties. He helped transition the Wildcats from NAIA to NCAA Division III membership and eligibility while tying for second place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in their first season of NCAA competition. 
In addition to Johnson & Wales, Bornholdt worked as a basketball skill development trainer at Panorama Wellness and Sports Institute in Highlands Ranch, CO. During his time at The Institute, Bornholdt learned from high-level trainers including former Denver Nuggets Strength and Conditioning coach, Steve Hess, and former Director of Basketball at The Institute, Matt Barnett. Bornholdt ran youth camps, individual skill workouts, and skill development classes in Chauncey Billups’ Big Shot Academy. Furthermore, he also organized and managed Colorado’s most elite high school, college and professional basketball runs at The Institute this past summer. 
Bornholdt earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the Jerry Colangelo College of Business at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.  While in college, Bornholdt was a scouting/recruiting intern for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. 
Bornholdt will be pursuing his Master of Education in Coaching Leadership at Mount Marty University in 2020-2021.
