Dillon Gross is beginning his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Lancers. Gross was previously a three-year student manager with South Dakota State University’s Men’s Basketball program in Brookings, SD. He was simultaneously an assistant coach at Sioux Valley High School for their boys’ basketball team for two years.

As a student manager for the Jackrabbits, Gross assisted with practices, individual workouts, clipping game film, and wherever else needed. During his senior year, the Jackrabbits went 30-5 and led the nation in three-point percentage at 44%. They went on to win both the Summit League Regular Season title and the Summit League Tournament title, advancing to the 2022 NCAA Tournament in Buffalo, NY.

During his time as an assistant coach at Sioux Valley, Gross focused on scouting and film breakdown of opponents, assisting at practices, and player development. In his two years, the Cossacks went a combined 43-8 and appeared in back-to-back state championship games. The Cossacks also never lost a home game in that span.

A native of Madison, SD, Gross graduated from Madison High School in 2018. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Administration in 2022. Gross is currently working on obtaining his master’s degree in Education in Coaching Leadership through Mount Marty University.
