Ramon Romero is in his eighth season as assistant coach. Romero is the outfield coach and assist with hitting for the Lancers.
A native of Albuquerque, NM, Romero was a high-school standout as an outfieder. He lead his La Cueva High School baseball team to a 2003 state championship while earning back-to-back all-state selections. Romero went on to play baseball at The University of New Mexico. Romero was a member of the Lancer Baseball coaching staff before switching to softball.
Coach Romero was apart of the Lancers historic season which included the 2022 GPAC Conference Championship and earning a bid to the NAIA Opening Round National Tournament.
While coaching Lancer softball, he has coached one 1st Team NAIA All American, one 2nd Team NAIA All American, one NFCA 1st Team All Region, one NFCA 2nd Team All Region, 3 Mount Marty Univeristy Female Athletes of the Year, Mount Marty University Champions of Charapter, 1 NAIA Honorable Mention, 23 GPAC All-Conference, and 6 NAIA All Scholar Team.
Romero resides in Yankton with his wife and four daughters.
