Christopher Cunningham joined the Mount Marty Women’s Basketball staff in 2025 as a graduate assistant while pursuing his master’s degree of Education in Athletic Leadership. Entering his second year with the program, he contributes to all aspects of the program and serves as the sub-varsity head coach, where he emphasizes hard work, player development, and building a strong team culture while supporting student-athletes both on and off the court.

Cunningham earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health from Grand View University.

He began his coaching career with the Southeast Polk Boys Basketball program, where he served as a varsity assistant and head freshman B coach, working with players across multiple levels. In addition, he gained further coaching experience as a JV head coach and varsity assistant within the Southeast Polk soccer program. Cunningham also served as a coach at the South Dakota Three-Class Shootout of the Class B team.
