J.D. Huberty joined the Mount Marty Women’s Basketball staff in 2024 as a Graduate Assistant Coach while pursuing his Master of Education in Coaching Leadership. He contributes to all aspects of the program and serves as head coach of the sub-varsity team, where he emphasizes player development, resilience, and preparation for varsity-level success. A Minnesota native, Huberty earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sport Management from the University of Minnesota-Morris.
Huberty began his coaching career at the grassroots level as Youth Basketball Supervisor for Morris Area Community Education, where he helped build a strong developmental foundation for young athletes. He went on to join Morris Area High School Girls Basketball as a varsity assistant and C-squad head coach, compiling a winning reputation across two seasons, while continuing to lead community youth programming. In the offseason, he gained additional experience on the AAU circuit with the West Central Wildcats, working with athletes across multiple age groups and competition levels.
Beyond the sidelines, Huberty has made a consistent impact in local communities. He stepped in to coach the Class B girls team at the 2025 South Dakota Three-Class Shootout, led middle school programs at Missouri Valley Christian Academy, and directed volunteer operations for the Yankton Best Triathlon
