Lancers Fall Short to the #15 Red Raiders

Box Score Yankton, SD –  Mount Marty hosted #15 Northwestern College on Wednesday night in a GPAC matchup. The Lancers were able to keep the game with seven points until the fourth quarter. The final score was 80-63 Northwestern. Mount Marty is now 5-13 on the season and 2-10 in conference play.

Kaela Martinez put up 24 points to beat her previous career record (21) and lead the Lancers. Martinez shot 100% from the free throw line, 62.5% from the 3-point line, and 44.4% in field goal attempts. This is the third game she has put up four 3-pointers in a game.

Eve Millar led the team in rebounds, grabbing seven of them in tonight's game. Five of her grabs were on the defensive side. Millar also put up 10 points and had four steals, four assists, and one block in the game. 

As a team, the Lancers were shooting 57.9% in 3-point attempts, and 72.7% at the free-throw line. MMU scored 10 points on fast breaks, 14 points on turnovers, and 14 points in the paint. The score was tied five separate times and had four lead changes in this high-scoring affair. 

Mount Marty will be playing again this Sunday, January 15th, up in Mitchell, SD. The Lancers will be facing the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers at 2:00 PM. The Men's team will follow.
