Yankton, SD – Mount Marty picked up their first conference win this season, taking down the Warriors 67-60. This is also Allan Bertram's first GPAC win as the Head Coach for the Lancers. MMU moves 3-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Midland led the game for the first half of the game, however, the Lancers were able to tie the game up by the end of the third. Mount Marty was able to get their fast break moving, outscoring Midland on them 10-0.
MMU also led in points in the paint 24-20, second chance points 6-5, and reserve player points 18-15. Midland scored seven points off turnovers, while the Lancers only scored six.
Kiara Berndt (SR/Harrisburg, SD) led the team in scoring today, tying her career-high of 16 points. The first time she put up 16 was against Doane earlier this season. Berndt also hit a season-high for rebounds (3) and steals (2). Kiara was 8-for-8 at the line, 3-for-6 for field goal attempts, and 2-for-4 in three-point shots.
Eve Millar (SR/Redfield, SD) put up double-digits, scoring 11 points. Millar led the team in rebounds with nine, and also had two steals, two assists, and one block in the game. Emma Jarovski (SO/Brandon, SD) had three steals to lead the Lancers. On top of that, she had five rebounds, one assist, and one block.
Kaela Martinez (FR/Sioux Falls, SD) led the bench in points, putting up nine. She was 4-for-6 in field goal attempts and 1-for-2 in three-point shots. Martinez had three rebounds and one assist.
Mount Marty travels to Sioux City, IA this Saturday to take on #12 Morningside University. This GPAC matchup is set for 2:00 PM.
