Men's Basketball: Lancers Fall On The Road To Morningside

Mount Marty was on the road again on Saturday against Morningside. The Lancers lost 71-100. Mount Marty is now 1-4 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play. 

First Half:

In the opening half, Morningside took control of the game early with a dominant offensive display. They shot efficiently, recording a remarkable 59 points, primarily due to their outstanding field goal shooting at 53.8%. Brendan Buckley led the charge with an impressive 19 points, followed by Joey Skoff and Ely Doble, who combined for 29 points. Mount Marty struggled defensively, facing difficulties in containing Morningside's scoring barrage and trailed significantly at halftime with a score of 59-37. Despite Tash Lunday's 16 points, Mount Marty found it challenging to match Morningside's offensive prowess in the first half.

Second Half:

The second half saw a more balanced effort from both teams. Mount Marty showed signs of improvement, both offensively and defensively, but Morningside continued to maintain their scoring tempo. Morningside's depth and consistency on offense sustained their dominance throughout the game. Despite Mount Marty's efforts to chip away at the lead, Morningside's well-rounded performance and efficient shooting secured a comfortable victory. Morningside closed out the game with a final score of 100-71, showcasing their offensive prowess and securing the win.
