Concordia, KS--
Mount Marty was once again at a neutral site game on Saturday afternoon. The Lancers played a double header against (RV) Concordia. Mount Marty won game 10-4 and lost game two 6-12. Mount Marty is now 24-5 overall and 7-1 in GPAC play. Concordia is now 17-9 overall and 3-1 in GPAC play.Â
Game OneÂ
Even though Mount Marty gave up three runs in the sixth inning, they still defeated Concordia University 10-4 on Saturday. Â
Concordia University got things moving in the first inning. Â #18 hit a solo homer.
Mount Marty put up three runs in the third inning. Â
Braeden Cordes and
Ethan Wishon all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Jared Miller toed the rubber the righthander went five and a third innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out six.
Mount Marty socked two home runs on the day.
Will Gardner went deep in the fourth inning. Cordes went for the long ball in the third inning.
Mount Marty totaled 12 hits in the game. Â
Kiko Nunez,
Billy Hancock, and
Bodi Wallar all collected multiple hits for MMU.  Nunez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lancers in hits.  MMU was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hancock made the most plays with eight.
Game TwoÂ
Mount Marty watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-6 loss to Concordia University on Saturday. Â Concordia University scored on a home run by #19 in the first inning and a home run by #3 in the second inning.
The Lancers collected nine hits and Concordia University had 16 in the high-scoring affair.
In the first inning, Concordia University got their offense started when #19 hit a solo homer.
MMU notched four runs in the ninth inning. Â
Kalen Piechota,
Noah Moon,
Tyler Linch, and
Evan Bock each had RBIs in the big inning.
Concordia University scored four runs in the fourth inning. Â Concordia University big bats were led by #12 and #7, all driving in runs in the frame.
Mount Marty had nine hits in the game. Â
Zane Salley,
Braeden Cordes, and
Will Gardner all managed multiple hits for MMU. Â Gardner, Cordes, and Salley each managed two hits to lead the Lancers.
Up NextÂ
Mount Marty is scheduled to play Dakota State on March 29th in a one nine inning game starting at 5 PM. Mount Marty will then play a four game set on April 1st and 2nd against Morningside. Both days will start at 1 PM. Both days are scheduled to be played in Sioux City, IA, check on social media for any schedule changes.Â
