The Mount Marty cross country teams competed at home at the Mount Marty Cross Country Invitational at the Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, SD on October 24.

The Lancer men finished 4th out of 6 teams scoring 74 points. Senior Logan Ferrari won the men's 8k race in 25:16.48. Freshman Joseph Cross (25:49.74) also posted a top-5 finish with his 4th-place finish.

Six additional athletes represented the Lancer men in the race. Sophomore Owen Koontz (27:19.61) finished in 18th place, junior Tague Tvedt (29:19.40) finished in 35th place, and sophomore Jacob Kueny (29:19.74) finished just behind Tvedt in 36th place. Freshman Zaelyn Varner (30:45.41) finished in 45th place, junior David Phillips (32:40.17) finished in 54th place, and sophomore Alan Santiago (32:52.21) finished in 58th place.

In the women's 6k race, freshman Isabella Ramsgard (25:10.18) finished 19th and sophomore Alexis Gosch (25:51.40) finished 28th.

The Lancers will compete next at the GPAC Cross Country Championships at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, NE on November 9. The meet will begin at 11:30 a.m. The men look to improve upon their 6th-place finish from last year's championships while the women look to improve upon their 10th-place finish.
