Mount Marty Claims Victory Over Dakota Wesleyan with a 7-2 Win
In a game against Dakota Wesleyan, Mount Marty secured a convincing 7-2 victory.
Dakota Wesleyan got off to a quick start, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning with Seth Christiansen's RBI double. They extended their lead in the third inning when Christiansen smashed a solo home run, making it 2-0 in favor of Dakota Wesleyan.
Mount Marty responded strongly in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ryan Bachman's sacrifice fly brought in Lake Terveer, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Will Gardner's sacrifice fly then allowed Shugo Kondo to score, tying the game at 2-2. Mount Marty continued their offensive surge when Joe Gokie's single brought in Kiko Nunez, giving them a 3-2 lead.
Mount Marty added to their lead in the fifth inning, scoring four runs. Kiko Nunez drew a walk with the bases loaded, bringing in Ethan Wishon to make it 4-2. Ryan Bachman's single then brought in William Johnson, extending the lead to 5-2. Will Gardner's sacrifice fly and a subsequent advancement by Bachman allowed two more runs to score, bringing the score to 7-2 in favor of Mount Marty.
Jared Miller, Myles Brown, and Caden Eymann pitched effectively for Mount Marty, limiting Dakota Wesleyan to just two runs on five hits.
With this victory, Mount Marty showcased their offensive prowess and solid pitching, securing a well-deserved win over Dakota Wesleyan.

Mount Marty showcased their offensive prowess and solid pitching yet again, securing an 8-1 victory over Dakota Wesleyan.
The scoring started in the second inning when Mount Marty's Will Gardner drew a walk with the bases loaded, bringing in Shugo Kondo for the first run. Joe Gokie then hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Ryan Bachman to score. Aidan Chang's single brought in William Johnson, extending the lead to 3-0. Ethan Wishon added another run with his single, scoring Gardner and putting Mount Marty up 4-0.
Dakota Wesleyan managed to get a run back in the third inning when Ryan McGinnis launched a solo home run, making it 4-1.
Mount Marty responded strongly in the fourth inning. Joe Gokie's double brought in William Johnson, extending the lead to 5-1. Chang's single then brought in Gardner, and a subsequent play allowed Gokie to score, increasing the lead to 7-1.
Mount Marty added one more run in the sixth inning when Jackson Noem's single brought in Lake Terveer, making it 8-1.
Pitcher Zach Hegge was stellar on the mound for Mount Marty, allowing just one run on four hits over six innings while striking out eight. Shane Miller closed out the game with a scoreless seventh inning.
With this victory, Mount Marty continued their winning streak and demonstrated their strength both offensively and defensively.
