Men's Tennis: Lancers Historic Season Comes To An End At GPAC Semi-Finals

The Lancers played Midland in the semi finals of the GPAC Championship on Friday afternoon. The Lancers came up short against the Warriors. Mount Marty ended the season 11-6 overall. That win total is a school record.

Friday GPAC Tennis Recap

(South Sioux City, Nebraska) – Top seed Morningside and three seed Midland have advanced to the Championship Match of the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Tournament.  Friday's matches were played at the First Serve Tennis Center in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Friday play saw three seed Midland and four seed Doane win their play in matches in the morning.  The Warriors defeated six seed Northwestern 4-0, while the Tigers defeated five seed Concordia 4-0.

In the semifinals top seed Morningside defeated four seed Doane 4-1, while three seed Midland won over two seed Mount Marty 4-0.

The GPAC Tournament Matches are played to clinch in all rounds.

Saturday's Championship Match will now be indoors at First Serve due to the rain projected into the early morning hours of Saturday and the likelihood of wet courts/conditions on Saturday morning.

The champion of the postseason tournament will advance to the NAIA Men's National Tennis Championship in Mobile, Alabama, at the Mobile Tennis Center on May 14-18, 2024.
