Lancers Earn Road Shutout Over Northwestern

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — The Mount Marty women's soccer team turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday night, earning a 3–0 shutout victory on the road over Northwestern (Iowa) in GPAC action.

The Lancers (6-4-1, 3-1-1 GPAC) struck first in the 33rd minute when Rhyli Grim netted her fourth goal of the season off an unassisted effort. Mika Moriera added to the lead early in the second half with a goal in the 48th minute, also unassisted. Grim sealed the match in the 70th minute, scoring her second goal of the night — and fifth of the season — with Marissa Moyle earning the assist.

Mount Marty outshot Northwestern 18–9 overall, including 10 shots on goal. Grim led the Lancers with five shots and two goals, while Moriera tallied three shots on target and one goal.

In goal, Brooklyn McNac continued her strong play, recording five saves to secure the shutout extending her record for shutouts on the season with six now. 

With the win, the Lancers move to 6-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in GPAC play. Mount Marty will return home on Sunday, October 12, to host Morningside University at 3:30 p.m. at Crane-Youngworth Field.
