On February 23, 2025, our Mount Marty Lancers competed McPherson at Sioux City in a match that tested our resolve. Despite our best efforts, McPherson secured a dominant 7-0 win. 

Doubles: Early Setbacks

Our doubles teams struggled to find their rhythm against a well-prepared McPherson squad:

• #1 Doubles:
  The pairing of Maria Luisa de Lama and Maria Azul Medina Lobos faced a tough challenge, losing 6-1 to McPherson's Alexandria Garcia and Vanessa Hofer.

• #2 Doubles:
  Alexandra Salazar and Camila Lopez were unable to get on track, falling 6-0 to McPherson's Lauren Van Drunen and Taimi Nashiku.

These early setbacks in doubles set a challenging tone for the day.

Singles: Competitive Battles

In singles, our athletes gave their all but ultimately couldn't overcome the opposition:

• #1 Singles:
  Maria Azul Medina Lobos battled hard but lost 6-1 to Vanessa Hofer.

• #2 Singles:
  Maria Luisa de Lama faced Alexandria Garcia and fell 6-1 in a match that highlighted areas for improvement.

• #3 Singles:
  Alexandra Salazar's efforts were met with a 6-0 defeat against Taimi Nashiku.

• #4 Singles:
  Camila Lopez managed to keep the contest competitive but was edged out 6-2 by Lauren Van Drunen.

• #5 Singles:
  In a closely contested match, Alessandra Lopez fought hard, but McPherson's Ava Bolin prevailed 7-5.

While every match presented its own challenges, our athletes showcased determination and grit on the court.
