Mount Marty Drops Season Opener at Benedictine
Atchison, Kan. – August 21, 2025 – The Mount Marty University women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Benedictine College (KS) in its 2025 season opener Thursday night.
The Lancers were outshot 20-4 in the contest, including a 9-1 margin in shots on goal. Brooklyn McNac anchored the defense in goal, recording six saves across 90 minutes.
Offensively, Mount Marty's four shots came from Angelina Hopwood (1 SOG), Avery Kimball (1), Mika Moreira (1), and Kiersten Ostnes (1). The Lancers also earned three corner kicks compared to six for the Ravens.
After a scoreless first half, Benedictine struck three times in the final 42 minutes. Payton Vogelbacher opened the scoring in the 48th minute, followed by goals from Teya Bigknife (70') and Isabel Agudelo (76'). Three different Ravens finished with goals, while Agudelo, Christine Znidarsic, and Anna Bolger each contributed assists.
The result drops Mount Marty to 0-1-0 on the season, while Benedictine improves to 1-0-0.
