Lancers Start Blue Angel Bash 2-0 with Commanding Performances
Milwaukee, Wis. – August 22, 2025 – The Mount Marty University volleyball team opened the Blue Angel Bash with two impressive wins, improving to 2-0 on the young season.
Match 1: Mount Marty vs. Mount Mary
The Lancers defeated the host school 3-1 (29-27, 25-9, 20-25, 25-17). Mount Marty swung at a .323 hitting percentage, led by Julia Weber's all-around effort of 11 kills on .500 hitting, 17 assists, four digs, and 12.5 points. Caitlin Guenther also notched 11 kills while hitting .625, and Jaya Wachholtz added eight kills, 12 digs, and two blocks. Setter Brianna Even tallied 19 assists and chipped in an ace. Defensively, the Lancers dominated at the net with 11 total blocks while limiting Mount Mary to a .124 hitting percentage.
Match 2: Mount Marty vs. Michigan-Dearborn
Mount Marty followed up with a sweep of Michigan-Dearborn, winning 25-21, 25-21, 25-8. The Lancers hit .312 as a team and were paced by Caitlin Guenther's nine kills on a blistering .727 hitting clip. Julia Weber posted seven kills, six assists, and five digs, while Mia Furst added five kills on .625 hitting. Brianna Even contributed 10 assists, three aces, and five digs, and libero Adisyn Indahl anchored the back row with 12 digs and four aces. The defense was again outstanding, producing 19 total blocks while holding Michigan-Dearborn to a negative hitting percentage.
