Lancers Split on Day Two of Penn Invite, Move to 6–2 on Season
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mount Marty volleyball team continued its strong early-season play on Saturday at the Penn Activity Center, earning a four-set win over Graceland in the morning before falling in a hard-fought four-set battle with host William Penn. The Lancers finished the day 1–1 and now stand at 6–2 overall.
Match One: Mount Marty 3, Graceland 1 (25–13, 21–25, 25–15, 25–22)
Mount Marty opened the day with a convincing performance against Graceland, leaning on a balanced attack and steady defensive effort.

Caitlin Guenther powered the offense with 14 kills on .440 hitting, adding a block assist for 14.5 total points.

Gabby Miller (10 kills, 2 aces, 12.0 points) and Jaya Wachholtz (9 kills, 2 blocks, 10.0 points) both provided consistent scoring.

Julia Weber directed the attack with 37 assists, while also contributing 5 kills, 9 digs, and a .444 hitting percentage.

Defensively, Jenna Schweitzer tallied 9 digs, while Kate Tolling (15 digs, 1 ace) and Adisyn Indahl (7 digs, 7 kills) anchored the floor defense.
The Lancers hit .244 as a team, highlighted by a dominant third set where they recorded 12 kills on just 26 swings (.385).
Match Two: William Penn 3, Mount Marty 1 (25–14, 15–25, 25–21, 29–27)
In the late morning contest, the Lancers squared off with host William Penn, one of the region's top teams, and battled to the wire before falling in four sets.

Adisyn Indahl led Mount Marty with a standout performance, posting 14 kills on .323 hitting while adding 10 digs.

Wachholtz (11 kills, 12.0 points) and Guenther (10 kills, 4 block assists, 12.0 points) again played key roles at the net.

Lexi Eickhoff was efficient with 10 kills on .421 hitting, while Miller chipped in 9 kills and 4 digs.

Weber registered a season-best 49 assists and added 7 digs to keep the offense balanced.

On the back line, Schweitzer tallied a team-high 13 digs, supported by Tolling (12 digs, 1 ace) and Dobrenz (8 digs).
The Lancers' best stretch came in set two, where they hit .452 as a team with 17 kills to even the match. They battled through a marathon fourth set but came up just short, 29–27.
