Lancers Battle No. 20 Midland to Five Sets, Fall Just Short
Fremont, Neb. – September 10, 2025
The Mount Marty volleyball team showed grit and resilience on the road Wednesday night, pushing nationally ranked Midland to the limit before falling in a five-set thriller, 3–2 (25–21, 25–22, 24–26, 13–25, 12–15). The loss drops the Lancers to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play, while Midland improves to 7-5 (2-0 GPAC).
Fast Start for the Lancers
Mount Marty came out strong, taking the first two sets behind efficient hitting and a balanced attack. The Lancers hit .444 in the opening set and followed with a .231 mark in set two, led by dominant swings from Caitlin Guenther, Adisyn Indahl, and Jaya Wachholtz. Despite dropping a tight third set, 26–24, the Lancers found themselves up two sets to one and positioned for the upset.
Midland Responds
The Warriors rallied behind a huge night from Brooklynn Snyder, who tallied 23 kills while hitting .309. Midland hit .375 in the fourth set to force a decisive fifth, where they edged out Mount Marty 15–12.

Mount Marty showcased one of its best offensive outings of the season, finishing with 59 kills on .238 hitting.
