Lancers Sweep Hastings for First GPAC Victory
Yankton, S.D. – Mount Marty volleyball secured its first GPAC win of the season in convincing fashion Wednesday night, sweeping Hastings 3-0 inside Cimpl Arena. The Lancers (7-6, 1-3 GPAC) controlled the match throughout, winning by set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-14.
Mount Marty was sharp offensively, finishing with a .303 team hitting percentage compared to just .077 for the Broncos.
The Lancers were led by Jaya Wachholtz, who tallied a match-high 13 kills with a .233 hitting mark while adding five digs. Gabby Miller was efficient in the middle, hitting .400 with seven kills and 7.5 points, while Adisyn Indahl added six kills at a .364 clip.
On the outside, Caitlin Guenther posted six kills and a team-best six block assists, helping Mount Marty control the net. Lexi Eickhoff chipped in five kills, and setter Julia Weber directed the attack brilliantly, dishing out 28 assists to go along with 14 digs and four kills of her own.
Defensively, the Lancers dug 37 balls and out-blocked Hastings 15-4 in total blocks. Kate Tollinger added 10 digs and an ace, while Jenna Schweitzer chipped in an ace and two digs.

The win not only gives Mount Marty its first conference victory of 2025 but also momentum heading into a busy weekend. The Lancers will travel for a tri-match at York University and Haskell Indian Nations University on Saturday, Sept. 20, beginning at noon.
