Lancers Battle to 2–2 Draw with Midland

YANKTON, S.D. — The Mount Marty men's soccer team showed grit and resilience on Wednesday night, rallying from an early deficit before settling for a 2–2 draw against Midland in GPAC play at Crane-Youngworth Field.

Midland struck first in the 7th minute, but the Lancers held firm until halftime behind a strong defensive effort and goalkeeper Juan Pablo Navia, who finished with 8 saves on the night.

Mount Marty responded in the second half as Rex Chiles netted the equalizer in the 57th minute off an assist from Sebastian Diaz. Moments later, Zachary Hebda put the Lancers ahead in the 70th minute with a strike assisted by Oliver Danzer. Midland pressed late and found the equalizer in the 89th minute to salvage the draw. Despite being outshot 28–7, Mount Marty made the most of its chances, putting all 7 shots on goal and defending with determination.

The Lancers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27, hosting Dordt for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
