Lancers Roll to 35–10 Road Win Over Waldorf, Improve to 2–0
Forest City, Iowa – September 6, 2025
The Mount Marty football team continued its strong start to the 2025 season, powering past Waldorf 35–10 on the road Saturday evening. With the victory, the Lancers improve to 2–0 overall and 1–0 in GPAC play, while the Warriors fall to 0–2 (0–2 GPAC).
First Half Control
Mount Marty wasted no time setting the tone. Quarterback Rugby Ryken connected with Jacksen Wachholtz on an 8-yard touchdown strike to open the scoring. In the second quarter, Ryken delivered two more scores — a 33-yard touchdown to Rodney Broadnax and a 5-yard rushing score from Malachy Harts — to give the Lancers a commanding 21–0 halftime lead.
Balanced Offense
The Lancer offense posted 381 total yards, with 251 yards on the ground and 130 through the air, averaging 6.1 yards per play.

Rugby Ryken went 11-for-19 passing for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also rushing for 50 yards on 7 carries.

Malachy Harts carried the load on the ground, rushing 18 times for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kyle Hirsch added 93 rushing yards on 15 attempts while also hauling in 2 catches for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Rodney Broadnax was Ryken's top target, recording 4 receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Wachholtz and Hirsch each caught touchdown passes, giving Ryken three different touchdown connections on the day.
Defense and Special Teams
The Lancer defense held Waldorf to 214 total yards, including just 71 passing yards, and came away with a key interception by Arthur Oliver.

Isaac Crownover and Oliver led the defense with 6 tackles each, while Delonte Dickey recorded 1.5 tackles for loss.

Daniel Pierce was disruptive in the secondary with 2 pass breakups and a 10-yard punt return.

Camden Vance had a perfect day kicking, going 5-for-5 on extra points while averaging 31 yards per punt.

On special teams, Jacob Carbajal returned 2 kickoffs for 45 yards, giving Mount Marty consistently strong field position.
