Baseball: Lancers Sweep Hesston

The Mount Marty Lancers found their power stroke in a dominant doubleheader sweep of Hesston College, racking up 23 runs and six home runs across the two games.


Game 1: Mount Marty 7, Hesston College 2

After a quiet start, the Lancers used a massive 6th inning to break a 2-2 tie and pull away for the win.

  • Corbett Freeman (The Spark): Freeman had a career day, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and a massive 4-run home run in the 6th inning. He finished with 5 RBI and a stolen base.

  • Jaycob Pascuzzi: Provided the back-to-back punch, following Freeman's homer with a solo shot of his own. He finished 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI.

  • Kaden Harris (W): Delivered a strong start on the mound, going 5.0 innings and allowing only 2 runs while striking out three to earn the victory.

  • Tony Suarez: Slammed the door with 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, allowing only one hit.


Game 2: Mount Marty 16, Hesston College 7

The Lancers' offense exploded for a 13-run 6th inning, turning a tight 4-3 deficit into a double-digit blowout fueled by four home runs in a single frame.

  • Liam Forsyth (The Powerhouse): Forsyth was unstoppable at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam in the 6th inning. He led all players with a staggering 6 RBI.

  • Kimo Wilinski: Had a monster game after entering the lineup, going 2-for-3 with a 3-run home run and 3 runs scored.

  • Drew Ryken: Contributed on both sides of the ball; he hit a solo home run and later took the mound to close out the 7th inning.

  • Jaycob Pascuzzi: Continued his hot streak, going 2-for-3 with another 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
