Senior Night Celebration! Lancers Finish Strong Against CSM

Date: February 21, 2026

Final Score: Mount Marty 61, College of Saint Mary 50

It was an emotional and triumphant Senior Night at Cimpl Arena as the Mount Marty Lancers (15-13, 10-12 GPAC) sent their veterans off in style. Despite a cold shooting start that saw them trailing at halftime, the Lancers locked in defensively when it mattered most, holding the Flames to just 7 points in the final quarter to secure the double-digit victory.

The Story: Perfection at the Stripe

There was a lid on the basket for both teams early on, but Mount Marty found their rhythm by being aggressive and forcing contact. While the field goal percentages weren't where the Lancers wanted them, they were absolutely perfect from the free-throw line, finishing the night a staggering 16-of-16.

That disciplined shooting, combined with a dominant second half where they outscored the Flames 40-26, ensured that the Senior Day festivities ended with a "W." The Lancers' height and hustle allowed them to win the rebounding battle 45-36, providing the second-chance opportunities needed to pull away in the 4th quarter.

Lancer Standouts

  • Leah Williams: Led all Lancers with 15 points, showing veteran poise by going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and adding 4 rebounds.

  • Kaela Martinez: The spark plug on the perimeter, Martinez knocked down three 3-pointers on her way to 13 points and 4 rebounds.

  • Lacey Sprakel: Secured a gritty double-double on her big night, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while also recording 2 steals and 3 assists.

  • Alexis Folkers: Contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds, playing 31 steady minutes to help anchor the defense.

  • Alexus Motley: Battled in the paint for 8 points and 8 rebounds, including 6 huge offensive boards that kept possessions alive.

Key Tactical Stats

  • Free Throw Shooting: Mount Marty 100% (16-16), CSM 66.7% (4-6).

  • The 4th Quarter Lockdown: Mount Marty outscored CSM 18-7 in the final ten minutes.

  • Rebounding Dominance: The Lancers hauled in 14 offensive rebounds, leading to critical second-chance points.

  • Depth and Defense: Lennix DuPris (5 rebounds) and Jadyn Jensen (4 rebounds) provided vital energy off the bench to keep the Flames' interior game neutralized.

The Big Picture: Finishing the regular season with a win on Senior Night is the perfect momentum builder. With the regular season officially in the books, the Lancers have shown they have the defensive grit and free-throw discipline to contend in the GPAC tournament. The Lancers will travel to Sioux Center, IA on Wednesday, February 25th. They will play #1 Dordt University at 7 PM.
