STARKEY HAT TRICK POWERS LANCERS TO 6–1 GPAC OPENING ROUT OF WALDORF
FOREST CITY, IOWA — The Mount Marty University men's soccer team made a resounding statement in their Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) opener on Saturday, rolling past Waldorf University 6–1 at Bolstorff Field.
Forward James Starkey put on a masterclass, recording a hat trick and an assist to lead an explosive Lancer attack that posted a four-goal second half to improve to 4–2–1 overall (1–0–0 GPAC).

8' (MMU 1, WAL 0) — Mount Marty caught an early break in the eighth minute when defensive pressure forced an own goal by Waldorf, giving the Lancers a 1–0 advantage.

17' (MMU 2, WAL 0) — Midfielder Jamie Hope picked out James Starkey less than ten minutes later, allowing the striker to bury his fourth goal of the season and double the lead heading into halftime.

57' (MMU 3, WAL 0) — The Lancers picked right up in the second period as James Hughes connected with Starkey for his second tally of the afternoon in the 57th minute.
