Omaha, NE – Mount Marty traveled down to Omaha, Neb., this weekend to take on the College of Saint Mary Flames. The Lancers won this conference matchup with a final score of 72-60. MMU moves to 5-12 overall and 2-9 in GPAC play.
The Lancers had a big first quarter to start off this game to help propel them to this win, putting up 24 points. The team shot 61.5% in total field goal attempt this quarter and hit 100% from both the free throw line and in 3-point attempts this quarter.
The team hit a season-high by putting up 72 points against the Flames. The previous high for the team was 69 points, which took place during the first game this season against Graceland.
Kaela Martinez hit a career-high this game by putting up 21 points. This is the fifth time she has put up double-digit points this season. Kaela shot 100% at the free throw line by going 7-for-7, this is the sixth time this season she has hit that mark. Martinez had four rebounds, two steals, and one assist to top off her performance.
Sidney Thue had her first career start as Lancer. She put up 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, and had two assists, one block, and one steal in the game.
Mount Marty plays at home again this Wednesday. The team will be hosting the #15 Northwestern Red Raiders. The tip-off time for this game is set for 6:00 PM. The Men's team will follow and begin at 7:45 PM.
