Mount Marty was on the road for their second consecutive conference game on Saturday. The Lancers lost 59-103 to Morningside. Mount Marty is now 2-4 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play. 

First Half:

Mount Marty struggled to find their rhythm in the initial half, facing a sturdy Morningside defense that disrupted their offensive flow. Shooting at a 32.7% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc, Mount Marty found it challenging to convert their shots efficiently. Despite Kaela Martinez and Jaydn Jensen's combined 34 points, the team found themselves trailing significantly at halftime with a score of 46-30. Morningside's balanced offense and effective shooting propelled them to a commanding lead, dominating both the paint and perimeter in the first half.

Second Half:

The second half mirrored the first as Morningside continued their dominance, capitalizing on their earlier lead and further stretching it. Mount Marty tried to rally, showing glimpses of improved offensive execution, but Morningside maintained their relentless scoring. Mount Marty struggled to contain Morningside's offensive firepower and found it hard to generate consistent scoring opportunities. Despite their efforts to rally in the latter half, Morningside's consistent shooting and strong defense proved too much to overcome. Morningside closed out the game convincingly with a final score of 103-59.

This game saw Mount Marty encountering difficulties on both ends of the floor, struggling against a highly efficient Morningside team that dominated in shooting and defense throughout the game. Despite moments of offensive spark, Mount Marty couldn't bridge the gap, ultimately falling to a determined Morningside team.
