Shotgun Sports: Lancers Compete At Greater Midwest Shoot

Mount Marty University Shotgun Shooting Event Recap

Mount Marty University's shotgun shooting team recently participated in a weekend shooting event, showcasing their skills and determination. The event, held at Grand Island, NE, featured a series of challenging clay target disciplines and brought together talented shooters from various colleges and universities.

Annika, representing Mount Marty University in the female category, competed in multiple shotgun disciplines, including Sporting Clays, Super Sporting, Skeet, and Trap. Her performance in each discipline demonstrated her commitment to the sport and her team. Here are Annika's results:

  • Sporting Clays: Annika placed 26th out of 49 female shooters, displaying impressive accuracy and skill.

  • Super Sporting: Annika placed 33rd out of 37 female competitors, indicating her dedication to mastering a variety of shooting styles.

  • Skeet: In this challenging discipline, Annika secured 29th place out of 47 female shooters, showcasing her versatility.

  • Trap: Annika demonstrated her proficiency by achieving the 24th place out of 55 female participants, highlighting her consistency and determination.

In the male category, Xavier represented Mount Marty University and participated in the Trap discipline. Xavier's placed 135th out of 139 male shooters.

Although Annika and Xavier did qualify for the Nationals in San Antonio in March 2024, their participation and performance at the event are indicative of their commitment to the sport and their university. With continuous training and dedication, they have the potential to achieve greater success in future competitions.

The Mount Marty University shotgun shooting team continues to develop and improve, and their participation in events like this one demonstrates their passion for the sport and their commitment to representing their institution.
