Lancers Compete at 2025 Outdoor National Target Championships
The Mount Marty University Archery Team had a strong showing at the 2025 Outdoor National Target Championships, hosted by the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) in Yankton, S.D., September 19-21. Several Lancers earned top finishes in their divisions while competing against the nation's best.
In the Collegiate Compound Female division, Hatley Hetletved placed 2nd overall with a score of 1430 (38X), highlighted by strong rounds of 297 at 40 yards and 289 at 50 yards. Teammate Carlee Ready followed closely behind, finishing 3rd overall with a 1419 (32X), posting consistent scores across all distances, including 288 at 40 yards.
The Collegiate Bowhunter Female division saw Elyse Bloom finish 6th in Flight 2 after 60 arrows, shooting a 439 total behind rounds of 168 (40y), 151 (50y), and 120 (60y).
In the Recurve division, Catalina Herrera turned in one of the team's top performances, placing 1st in Collegiate Recurve Male [150 arrows] with a score of 1221 (4X), anchored by a 263 at 40 yards and 251 at 50 yards. Meanwhile, newcomer Sebastien Huynh captured 1st place after 60 arrows in the same division, scoring a 456 (6X) with steady shooting across all three distances.
Hetletved also competed in the Collegiate Compound Female [60 arrows] session, where she once again impressed, taking 2nd place with a 572 (15X).
