Lancers Battle Adverse Conditions at 2025 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals
The Mount Marty University Archery Team faced some of the most challenging conditions of the season at the 2025 Hotel Planner USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals, held at the Hope Sports Complex in Lansing, MI. Despite temperatures hovering around 55 degrees, 15-25 MPH unpredictable winds, and intermittent rain showers, the Lancers pushed through to earn a 12th-place overall team finish.
Maren Sanders emerged as a standout performer, placing 8th in the Compound division with a score of 679 and earning the prestigious All-American Award, which is based on cumulative performances from both indoor and outdoor nationals. Her recognition highlights her consistency and skill across all conditions and stages of the season.
In the Recurve division, Lalit Jain posted a 606, finishing 12th overall and also earning a spot on the All-American Academic Team, recognizing his excellence both on the range and in the classroom. Catalina Herrera and Hailee Pringle also held strong, placing 33rd and 42nd, respectively.
In the Barebow division, Savannah Chouinard continued to impress, finishing 21st overall with a 452, earning her a top-10 individual ranking for the event.
In the Compound division, Teagan Herold finished 13th with a 690, while Chloe Madison and Carlee Ready placed 31st and 43rd, respectively.
In the Fixed Pin division, Lucas Hayes scored a 621, placing 38th, while Sawyer Goeden posted a 502, finishing 52nd overall.
Team and Mixed Team Competitions:
The Lancers reached the quarterfinals in Mixed Team Recurve, Mixed Team Compound, and Compound Women's Team, with each matchup ending against a dominant Texas A&M squad. Despite falling short, the Lancers demonstrated grit and determination, staying positive and focused despite the adverse conditions.
With multiple individual honors and a strong overall showing in bad conditions, the Lancers wrapped up a great 2025 season.
